Tips to dominate Social Media and expand your Business

Social media is one of the best tools for marketing that we have access to. It is free and can reach unlimited prospective clients. It can also be done from anywhere – on the train to work, or waiting in line for Starbucks. The key is to be consistent and post interesting content. Use these tips to boost your social media presence and expand your business.

  • Set up a strategy. Figure out your goals for the year and make a plan to achieve them!
  • Put in the work. Social media is easily accessible; however, it does require work to market yourself and your business.
  • Target your ideal customer. Figure out who your ideal customer is and market as you are talking directly to them. The more targeted your message is, the better results you will have.
  • Turn the most interesting quotes, or bits of information into images. Images are easily shareable. Make sure they are high quality as well.
  • Add text to your images; text gives your images context.
  • Write interesting captions. With so much content being thrown around, make sure yours is interesting and eye catching.
  • Add “tweet this” to your content. Twitter is useful in sharing compelling information. Using the “tweet this” hashtag is a great way to encourage your friends and followers to share your information.
  • Add a “pin it” button to all images. Pinterest has quickly gained popularity for everything from home décor to apple pie recipes. Take advantage!
  • Share your story. Connect with your clients by sharing information about yourself. Find interesting ways to talk about yourself such as a #throwbackthursday post.
  • Provide real education. Educate your audience; part of the reason they are on social media is to learn.
  • Boost your posts. Facebook offers the option to pay to boost your posts. Boosting your posts can expand your audience greatly!
  • Don’t forget to give it time. Your business won’t transform overnight, but stick with it!
