6 Tips for a Successful Open House

  1. Market the Event - If you want traffic, you need to let people know about the event. Try to team up with other agents, time your open house at the same time as a community event, use door hangers, and advertise on public sites.
  2. Educate the Sellers - Make sure your sellers understand the positives and negatives of having their home held open.
  3. Let the Neighbors be Nosy - don’t worry about getting all those “nosy neighbors,” use them as part of your sales team to help you sell the home!
  4. Hide the Valuables - educate your sellers long before open house day about the need to secure their valuables and prescription drugs.
  5. Collect Contact Information - Make it easy for visitors to sign in. Registering or signing in helps from a safety perspective, and it also gives you a good way to add contacts to your database.  
  6. Be Safe - Unfortunately there are bad people out there. Consider partnering with another agent to sit the open house together, or better yet, bring your trusted MWF Loan Officer with you!
