Seven Traits that can Improve your Customer Relationships

  1. Enthusiastic: Make sure you have passion and excitement for the work you do. This can be seen by your clients and you need to show confidence.
  2. Inquisitive: Don’t always do all the talking. Great salespeople ask questions of their clients and listen to better help the client. (80/20 rule)
  3. Empathic: Your client wants to feel that you understand their concerns, opinions and needs. Make sure your comments are genuine and relevant to the conversation and the client.
  4. Goal-Driven: To become successful at reaching your goals, you need to have a plan of action. Therefore, you must set your goals and plan how you can work towards them. Make sure that your goals are specific and realistic. Rewards can also help you get through your plan of action to help monitor your progress towards your accomplishments.
  5. Resourceful: In this fast paced business, you need to analyze what works in your current customer interactions and what doesn't. Learn from what doesn't work and study industry information to better inform yourself to be able to serve your clients.
  6. Friendly: No one likes pushy, in your face salespeople, therefore, it’s not surprising that clients would rather have friendly, helpful salespeople to help them with such a significant life experience as buying a home.
  7. Adaptive: Be able to identify your client as one of the four personality styles.
  8. Driver: Competitive, goal oriented, determined. You will want to be organized and to the point.
  9. Expressive: Spontaneous. Listen to the client and re-direct when needed.
  10. Amiable: Friendly, sensitive. Get to know client and move at slower pace.
  11. Analytical: Detail-oriented and less emotional. Don’t rush the client and provide lots of information.
