Nine Steps to Create a Personal Brand Strategy

Personal branding is all about showing your clients and audience what you have to offer and how if might help/impact them. Take a look at these nine basic steps to create a Personal Branding Strategy.

  1. Who are you? You want to let others know your skills, passions and your specializations.
  2. How are you perceived? You want to know what your friends, colleagues and customers say about you. You will also want to google yourself to see what your online presence is.
  3. What do you want to achieve? Identify the product/services that you want to specialize in as well as the tight target audience you want to reach.
  4. Create your Brand! Try using a name and slogan that is easy to remember. Make sure use your company colors and logo to represent your company identity.
  5. Create your Ecosystem! Make sure to use your resources—blog and social media networks will help you reach audiences that you may never reach on foot.
  6. Create your Network! You will want to follow experts in your field to learn from and create relationships. Make sure to participate in networking groups and events.
  7. Create Original Content! Post valuable content to your clients on your blog and/or social media. Make sure to change your tone according to which social platform you are using.
  8. Get Involved & Share! Engage on social networks by liking, commenting and starting conversations with other users.
  9. Listen & Monitor! Keep yourself updated on what is happening in your industry. You also want to monitor your brand activity and adjust accordingly to increase your personal brand.
