7 Trends That'll Be In For 2017 And 3 That'll Be Out
If 2016 was a little unpredictable, 2017 is looking to be a boundary-pushing year for interiors. At least, that's what real estate website Trulia is seeing with their trend forecast for the coming year.
In:
- Matte Appliances: The new look of appliances is bold and speaks for itself adding depth to your kitchen design.
- Marble: The tile market is becoming dominated by marble material at industry shows.
- Cerused Wood: This finish refers to the technique that brings out the unique grain of wood. Originally in high end markets, it is finally trickling down to be more universally accepted.
- Jewel Tones: Say goodbye to beige, jewel tones such as emerald green, amethyst and pastel colors are becoming more popular.
- Nailhead Details: This trend is going beyond upholstery and into storage chests, credenzas, and even base plates for lighting fixtures.
- Subway Tiles: This is certainly not a new trend but is in fact a classic and versatile tile choice that works well with multiple styles.
- Smart Home Features: As our lives revolve around technology, soon so will our homes.
OUT:
- “Strictly” Antique: Décor from the same period only is a thing of the past. It’s more aesthetically intriguing to create a look with pieces from both the past and the future.
- Oversized Furniture: Space is always a premium, therefore, oversized furniture has become an inefficient use of space.
- Brushed Metal: These metals are a thing of the past while shiny, warm metals such as bronze and gold are becoming more popular and tend to add elegance to the space.
